Wondering what kind of Mothers day gift to choose for my mother I decided to make a wonderful wine gift basket for her. But then I did not know what kind of wine to buy. If she likes wine, this will be really good gift for her, which she could share with the rest of you. America’s number one selling white wine is the Chardonnay. It is the most loved dry white wine there. The Chardonnay grape adapts very easy to the different climate conditions and that is why it is wide spread around the world and its price is not very high. The wine has special favor of fresh fruits, pears, apples, melon and citrus.

Other very popular wine is Sauvignon Blanc. It is very refreshing, medium-bodied wine with wide range of flavors. So if you want to buy a sweet one read carefully the label, it should be written Auslese. If you prefer dry wine then on the label you have to read Trocken.
